MonoDevelop 0.12 is now available. This release main features are: an action-based menu and toolbar editor in the Gtk# designer plus a new contextual toolbar for editing; It is now also possible to use MonoDevelop to edit ASP.NET web pages ... Other features include: a Deployment system to generate packages and tarballs; suppotr for the autotools toolchain (generate autoconf, automake templates); Support for multiple file name encodings and many bug fixes. We have created a Mono VMware image that people can use with the free VMware player. The image is a SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10, and it includes the latest version of Mono, the development tools, documentation and samples for Windows.Forms ... [More] and ASP.NET. The MonoDevelop IDE is included in the image for developers, and Postgress and MySQL are installed to test your application with a database. The image is available from our downloads page. [Less]

RemObjects has announced their new Object Pascal Compiler. Chrome 1.5, with complete support for both Mono and .NET. The Mono compiler is available for free.

This is the longest gap we have had between Mono releases (1.1.15 to 1.1.16), but the wait was worth it. The inlining optimization is now turned on as well as a number of other small optimizations that enhance inlining and the results are ... [More] excellent. Thanks go to Massi that tuned the optimizations and hunt down every bug until it was ready. There is a lot of new stuff, in particular, Windows.Forms is better than ever in every possible way. An installer for Mono on OSX/Intel has been posted to our downloads page. Mono was previously available on OSX/Intel, this is the first time that we publish a supported installer from Novell.
