GIMP 2.5.1 is another snapshot from the 2.5 development series. It gives developers and interested users a view into the current development towards GIMP 2.6. The changes in GIMP 2.5 are listed in the NEWS file.

The source files of gimp-help-2.4.1 can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org. You will notice that the tarball is a lot smaller than the previous releases as we optimized the screen-shots.

Libre Graphics Meeting 2008

The 3rd annual Libre Graphics Meeting will be held in Wrocław, Poland May 8 - 11. The conference brings together developers and users of free software graphics applications, such as GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, Blender, Krita, the Open Clipart Library ... [More] and more.

We are trying to raise USD$ 20,000 in the next 16 days before Friday, April 18th in order to support the conference and to help developers with travel and accommodation costs. [Less]

User Manual 2.4.1- Special Release

After four months of hard work we are proud to announce a special release of the user manual for GIMP. This release features a significant change in the internationalization strategy of the user manual.

This manual is entirely written in ... [More] Esperanto, including all screenshots.

The releases for the manual became too large. In particular the large number of screen-shots of the same dialog in all the different languages consume a lot of space. Additionally, the various translations became hard to maintain. Rewriting the manual in one, universal language was the only way to solve those problems.

The release can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org. We encourage everyone to download this release, because it will only be available for download on 1st of April 2008. [Less]

GIMP 2.4.0-rc3 fixes most of the bugs that were reported for the earlier release candidates. Have a look at the NEWS file for the changes made in this release.

The next stable GIMP release is close. The developers made available a first release candidate for GIMP 2.4.0. This marks the end of the development cycle towards GIMP 2.4. Due to a regression in the PSD loader that was introduced with the 2.2.16 release, we had to roll out another release in the stable 2.2 series.
