Project Summary

The linux-minidisc project aims at bringing free and full hardware support for Sony and other MiniDisc players and recorders to Linux and other (free) operating systems.

The project started in 2008 as I was annoyed not being able to use my MiniDisc-Walkman with Linux. Since the development involves a lot of reverse engineering, it takes a lot of time and efforts to get everything working. But with the help with a lot of people from the community we have already made a lot of advances and we hope to find more people willing to contribute, especially we're looking for talented programmers which might be MiniDisc users themselves to help us.
